Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Where do we practice?2023-03-22T21:08:23-07:00

Each week we have scheduled 1 hour of indoor gym time for team practices.  Practice locations vary each season. Coaches will determine place/day/time.

When and where are the games played?2023-03-22T21:09:20-07:00

Games are played in school gyms on Saturdays. Locations and times vary each season.

Can I watch practice?2023-03-22T21:10:28-07:00

We have been asked by the schools to limit who is at the practices to the coaches and players on that team. There should always be 2 adults with the players in the gym. We ask that you please wait in your car in the parking lot.

Can I request my friend or coach during registration?2023-03-22T21:11:24-07:00

Yes, you will see the section to add a coach or friend/family member. We will do our best to honor all requests, however, we cannot guarantee your requests. If you sign up late, we will have to place you wherever there is an opening on a team.

Can my child play up a grade?2023-03-22T21:13:33-07:00

Your child may play up a grade but never down. To make putting teams together easier, please register for the grade you would like your child to play in.

How are teams formed?2023-03-22T21:14:29-07:00

We start by forming teams by coach and friend requests. After that we always try our best to keep you as close to home/school as possible. However, nothing is guaranteed, everything depends on the number of kids that sign up in your area.

How many players per team?2023-03-22T21:15:47-07:00

Minimum of 6 players. Teams do not exceed 10 players per team so every player can receive a fair amount of playing time. Each player is to play at least ½ the game. If a player misses practice before a game, play time is up to the coach but has to be discussed with parents before game.

Is there a discount for coaches?2023-03-22T21:16:29-07:00

Yes, a onetime/per season discount will be rebated back after receiving your roster. Coaching is not guaranteed.

Can I bring in a team?2023-03-22T21:17:10-07:00

Yes, but you are not allowed to limit the size of your team. If WHAM needs to place an athlete on your team, you are required to take them. Remember we are a recreational league not club.

Can I coach more than 1 team?2023-03-22T21:18:04-07:00

Yes, we have many coaches that have 2 or more teams. Just know that we try our best to make accommodations for the head coaches so you will have at least 1 hour in between games. We suggest always having an assistant coach if anything comes up. It is very hard to change schedules with so may having multiple teams.

I have a team that I coach outside of Wham; can I make a time request for games?2023-03-23T11:58:20-07:00

Because we have so many coaches that have 2 or more teams inside of Wham it is very hard to also include obstacles outside of Wham. We cannot make the schedule or make changes for anything outside of Wham.
